MapaThe search for Amber Chamber is presumably going to its final. The latest study, which charts the journey of the procession is available and it is clear that the destination to deposit this extraordinary treasure was the site of an old castle near the Czech border. It seems that the final negotiations that Helmut Gaensel led in Ulm in Germany with a group of experts headed by Mr. Wolfgang Friedrich, give a chance to unearth Amber Chamber relatively quickly.

HradThe story of Jantar's Amber Chamber has taken on a more concrete form and is perhaps close to a finale as viewers of the German television station MDR in Saxony have learned. In the summer a report was transmitted from the surroundings of Chemnitz. The report mapped out the long story of of the unique historical monument. Helmut Gaensel was one of the participants in the television report and from the interview he gave journalist Hengstem is Dokumentwas revealed that the exact position of the Amber Chamber is known. Today it is possible to publicise the name of a person who has a description of the path to the hidden Amber Chamber. The name of this important man is Wolfgang Fridrich. From documents is has clearly been revealed that the Chamber lies buried not far beneath an Estate house. MDR filmed a report not far from the exact location of the Chamber although not in the immediate vicinity. Knowledge of the true location now lies with the firm Fortuna Bernstiein GmbH which is seeking permision from the German Office to open the gallery and exume the treasure. As long as everything goes well the excavation will begin in the fall.

The latest historical research indicates that there are many more places where the amber chamber, which disappeared more than six decades ago, could be hidden. What are these indications? First of all, there is a diary written by SS officer Karl Viktor to his son Feiedrich. The story contains an information written at the turn of April and May in 1945. The author is sending this information to his son in December the same year. The notes are written in old German language and depict the journey undertook by Karl Viktor and his companions. They all convoyed a precious cargo across Germany in order to hide it. It is not difficult to guess what it was. This cargo consisted of boxes full of dismantled amber chamber. The journey ended in the middle of Krušné hory (mountains ) in the ruins of an old castle. There is seemingly nothing simpler then to pick it up.

Not so simple as it seems. The diary itself is a detective story. Its current owner who does not want to make his name public had bought an old small suitcase at the flea market for 5 marks several years ago for a purpose to use it as a tool box in his workshop. While handling it in his workshop it accidentally fell and in its double bottom he discovered the diary. Helmut Geansel has a copy of the diary at his disposal and there is another problem. Some parts of the diary are blackened out especially parts which describe the end of the cargo’s journey and its storage. The owner of the diary will reveal it only if he gets a certain amount of money.

And we are talking of a small fortune.Mr Helmut Gaensel. Even hesitates because he suspects another mystification or even a trick.

PakostaMany people are convinced about the existence of the amber chamber and the fact that it is hidden somewhere in Krušné mountains. According to some of them, they had seen a Legendary Otto Skorzeny to wander in the vicinity at the end of the war. Residents of Deutschneudorf think that the chamber is hidden somewhere in the underground of their village. Even Mr Peter Heinz Haustein an MP does not rule it out. The village of Deutschneudorf is located on the Czech-German border in the vicinity of Mount of Saint Catherine. Geographical location of the village with its numerous mine galleries does not rule out the existence of amber chamber being hidden at this location. Not surprisingly even Helmut Gaensel believes that it is hidden right here. With the support of the mayor Peter Pakosta a mine Gallery on the Czech side of the border was opened. On the German side it was realise with the help of Fortuna Company. What if…. One never knows…

ZbirohEmber Chamber could be even hidden in well of the Zbiroh castle. Why is that? During the war a SS army unit was located in the caste. Its task was to monitor broadcasting. There was also the deepest well in the world located at the castle. Before their escape the Germans threw everything imaginable in it. At the depth of 105 metres they built a concrete sealing. Who knows what is behind it. It took the new owner over one year to get to this concrete sealing and the work was finished in 2006. Now it is certain that from the sealing another side gallery leads to still uncovered place. The work continues….
